How to Install Cabinet and Drawer Pulls on DIY Projects: A Step-by-Step Guide

Transform your cabinetry from mundane to magnificent with the perfect cabinet and drawer pulls. Whether you’re embarking on a weekend DIY renovation or simply upgrading your existing furniture, this guide will empower you to install these decorative elements like a pro.

Cabinet or drawer pulls
Measuring tape or ruler
Pencil or marking tool
Screwdriver or drill
Screws provided with pulls (or matching size)
Step 1: Determine Placement
Measure and mark the center point where you want the pull to be placed. Ensure the pulls are evenly spaced for a symmetrical look.
Step 2: Drill Pilot Holes (Optional)
For delicate wood cabinetry, pre-drilling small pilot holes is recommended to prevent splitting. Use a drill bit slightly smaller than the screw size.
Step 3: Align and Insert Screws
The pulls typically come with screws. Align the screws with the marked holes and insert them through the front of the cabinet or drawer. Use a screwdriver or drill to gently tighten them, ensuring you don’t overtighten and damage the wood.
