How to design die casting parts
Jul 23, 2021
1. The design of die castings involves four aspects:
a. That is, the requirements of die casting for the shape and structure of parts; b. The process performance of die castings; c. The dimensional accuracy and surface requirements of die castings; d. The determination of the parting surface of die castings; the part design of die castings is die casting production technology The following issues must be considered when designing the important part of the mold: the selection of mold parting surface, the opening of the gate, the selection of the ejector position, the shrinkage of the casting, the guarantee of the dimensional accuracy of the casting, the prevention of the internal defects of the casting, the related casting hole Requirements, related requirements for shrinkage and deformation, and the size of the processing allowance;
2. The design principles of die castings are:
A. Choose the material of the die-casting parts correctly, b. Determine the dimensional accuracy of the die-casting parts reasonably; c. Try to make the wall thickness evenly distributed; d. Increase the crafting corners at each corner to avoid sharp corners.
3. Classification of die castings:
According to the requirements of use, it can be divided into two categories. One type of parts bearing larger load or parts with higher relative movement speed. The items to be inspected include size, surface quality, chemical composition, and mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation) , Hardness); the other category is other parts, the items to be inspected include size, surface quality and chemical composition. When designing die-casting parts, it should also be noted that the parts should meet the process requirements of die-casting. The manufacturability of die-casting is considered in terms of the position of the parting surface, the position of the push rod on the top surface, the relevant requirements of the casting hole, the relevant requirements of shrinkage and deformation, and the size of the machining allowance. Reasonably determining the parting surface of the die-casting surface can not only simplify the structure of the die-casting mold, but also ensure the quality of the casting. Requirements for the design of die casting parts.
